You don't even need to change all the light fittings, we can provide LED Bulbs that fit your current lights.

And they don't have to be a cold blueish light, we can provide Warm White or Cool White, and even LED bulbs you can dim

Thermostats

  • 84% of UK domestic energy is used for heating and hot water
  • 60% of UK domestic energy is used for heating
  • Only 3% of UK domestic energy is used for lighting
  • One third of the UK’s energy consumption is from domestic use*
  • Turning your thermostat down 1oC will save 10% on your bill**
  • Never using a light bulb again would only save 3% of the energy used in your home
  • 40% of homes in the UK are missing a thermostat*

By choosing to have a solar powered electricity generating system installed, you can cut your electricity bills because the Feed In Tariff will pay for every kWp generated. And there’s more too because you won't have to pay your energy supplier for the energy that you have generated and consumed. In fact, if you “export” any surplus back to the grid, you will be paid a minimum of 3p* per premium by the supplier.

Like us, if you are also concerned about the environment, then you can make this investment with the added knowledge that for every kWp of solar panels installed, you will save 358kg of carbon emissions per year.

Our suppliers and manufacturing partners have been established in renewable energy since 1979 and have been a major brand Solar Distributor for a number of years.

  • Save Money
  • Get paid for every KWp generated
  • Get paid 3p* minimum for every unit not used
  • Save 358kg of carbon a year for every kWp panel installed.
  • The inverter has a manufacturers warrenty of 5 years
  • The panels have a manufacturers warrenty of 25 years
  • VAT is just 5% on the purchase of the equipment, thats a saving of 15%

Solar PV

Why a Solar PV system installation is a good choice for renewable energy

  • Feed in Tariffs (energy cashback) paid for the energy generated
  • The electricity generated is used to power appliances and any surplus exported to the Grid.
  • Typically in Norfolk & Suffolk 800 kilowatt hours (kWh) of power can be generated annually from every kW of PV panels installed.
  • Not only will there be a reduction in energy bills but PV will also minimise the impact of rising energy costs over the coming years.
  • PV systems have no moving parts, are noiseless and require little maintenance.
  • Critten Electrical uses established branded components with a proven track record, so you can be sure of the warranties offered
  • Investment in a highly reliable system with a typical lifetime of 25-30 years.
  • An energy saving solar installation adds value to a property and makes it more efficient.
  • The kits fit seamlessly into the existing grid connection.
  • Generating solar energy reduces dependency on the commercial electricity providers.
  • A typical 2.8 KWp system will save over 1 tonne of CO2 per year.

Voltage optomisation

Voltage Optimisation is the control of voltage supplied to appliances to a set level (usually 220V)

    Appliances with motors and pumps

  • 'A' rated freezer = 17% energy saving
  • 'A' rated refrigerator = 16% energy saving
  • 3 speed central heating pump = 15% to 18% energy saving
  • Lighting

  • CFL lighting = 11% energy saving
  • Incandescent bulb = 15% energy saving
  • Low voltage halogen spot lights = 15% energy saving
  • Consumer electronics

  • DAB radio = 5% energy saving
  • DECT cordless phone base station = 30% energy saving
  • ADSL modem and wireless router = 5% energy saving
  • Personal Computer = 4% energy saving
  • Hi-Fi = 13% energy saving

A new "A" Rated condensing boiler will use up to 40% less gas than a conventional boiler.

As boilers age, their efficiency begins to decrease and rather than using the heat produced up to 50% can be lost through the flue. An "A" rated boiler will convert at least 90% of the heat it produces and you will be doing a lot for both your annual heating bills and the environment.

Heating controls

Working with Heating Engineers for 45 years means we have seen it all and can advise on the best controls to make use of your boiler, either domestic or commercial.

If you have an old system it's worth upgrading and saving. We can put you in touch with Heating Engineers who you can trust.

"A" Rated Condensing Boilers

The benefits

  • Convert more heat into your home
  • Low cost with high gains
  • Cut your carbon emissions
  • Reduce your heating costs by up to 35%
  • Improve your homes energy status
  • Operate your new boiler alongside solar energy
  • Waiting for your old boiler to die will see the performance of your boiler drop and see rises in both heating and maintenance heating costs. Begin reclaiming costs now by fitting an condensing boiler.

    Condensing

A high efficiency condensing boiler works on the principle of recovering as much as possible of the waste heat which is normally lost from the flue of a conventional (non-condensing) boiler. The best high efficiency condensing boilers ("A" Rated) convert more than 90% of their fuel into heat, compared to 55% - 75% for conventional types.
