Established in 1967 as B.H.Critten Electrical Contractors, when Barry Critten decided to leave Norwich Electrical where he had been estimating engineer and set up on his own, with one job, a rewire which cost an astronomical £30.
With over 45years experience we can assist with all Electrical requirements.. All contracts undertaken by Critten Electrical are provided with an Electrical Installation Certificate or Minor Works certificates and we also offer Periodic Inspection and Electrical Testing.

Over the years we have been lucky enough to have some great people work with us, and to have worked for some even nicer customers, from the City Hall, wiring new council houses, rewiring older one, we also flood lit half the city, including the Castle, the Cathedral, Bishop Gate, St. Peter Mancroft church, we installed the pump at the fountain outside C&A, now sadly gone.
We have worked on schools, old peoples homes, street lighting, colleges.
Specialising in heating systems, we have plumbers, electricians, boiler reps calling us for advice, and recommending us, to their friends. We have worked with Ward and Rooney for most of those years, along with Norwich Gas Heating Services, and several plumbers and heating engineers. Now as a certified Nest Installer, and Honeywell installer.
We have wired private housing estates, one off houses, from 2 bedroom bungalows to 7 bedroom houses, with dual aspect and swimming pool, as we are sure an estate agent would describe them.
More recently we have carried out work at Notre Dame school for girls in Norwich in their new Drama Studio, The Girl Guides camp at Keswick, The Fish and Chip company in Rackheath, Zing coffee shop also in Rackheath, completely revamping the shops and office, Yarmouth and Wavney Mind, Sprowston Methodist Church, The Dixon Centre, Smarts autoparts (now part of wilco) and a few thousand houses around Norfolk doing all types of work from extensions to a new socket.
We have over 45years experience. Now run by Barry's son Nigel Critten who started as an apprentice in 1989, we are building on our experience.
